The Very Beginning

Branding Iron BBQ was opened in 1991 by Sherry Keegan, bringing traditional KC BBQ to Harrisonville and Cass County.

Growing Community

Sherry came from a long line of restauranteurs and used her expertise to grow the family business for over 30 years. But to Sherry, Branding Iron was more than just a restaurant. Under her leadership it has helped create jobs, supported countless charities and non-profits, and engaged with dozens of youth education and trade events, ensuring a better future for our growing community.

Employee Ownership

In 2022, Sherry decided to retire but wanted to ensure the future success of the business and her team. She partnered with Teamshares, selling the restaurant and transitioning Branding Iron BBQ to employee ownership. Each employee-owner can now participate in the success of the business through dividends and equity ownership. Present Day

Today, every customer who comes through our doors supports a more stable financial future for our team of employee-owners and each dollar spent ensures Branding Iron will continue to serve mouth-watering BBQ for years to come. We carry on Sherry’s legacy, remaining active participants in the community: whether it’s sponsoring local band fundraisers, supporting the Harrisonville Chamber of Commerce and local tourism efforts, or providing a safe workplace for a first-time jobseeker, Branding Iron continues to be a staple in the community.

"The beef burnt ends were the best we’ve EVER had. They had the right combination of smoky flavor but without any dryness whatsoever and PERFECTLY seasoned. Great service! Great food! Portions were just right. GO! You will NOT regret it. If you do ? There is something wrong with your taste buds. Seriously."
